The Moon

I'm looking at the moon tonight
With its veils of clouds and faces
And remember life a while ago
In other times and places.

The Moon was there in Sixty-eight
And remembers all my friends.
And as I look, a cloud goes by;
I remember fates and ends.

War is not made by itself,
It's made by those in power.
And from us strips the best we have
Our Children as they flower.

Let's not forget that War is War
Despite how smart the bombs.
The Family's loss is still the same
As it was in Viet Nam.

And so will War forever be
In other times and places.
When battles come, and friends are lost,
They'll just have different faces.
